Capturing photos and potentially sharing them has been on my mind lately. Coincidentally, I discovered the #the100pics challenge through Adam Duglas and was tempted to give it a go. It involves taking and posting 100 photos in a year on your blog. The rules allow you to share already existing photos, but if I were to do it, I’d like to stick to new photos and have some descriptive captions to go along with them. The more I thought about it, the less feasible it sounded for me. I’ve also started following more users on Flickr through RSS. This has provided some form of motivation to go out and take more pictures. Over on the link blog, I’ve shared posts from Giles Turnbull and Nabeel Valley that have come across my radar lately. Both fueling the same urge to take more and share these pictures. Finally, a post from Robert Birming on their /photo slash page is what made me cross the line. In their words, it’s a page for “a single photo swapped now and then”. My main site now has one, and I’ll be rotating pictures on there every so often. Over the next few days I’ll be adding an RSS feed and an archive page for old photos.
