While up in the Lake District on holiday spouse and I took a ride on the Settle–Carlisle line. It’s “one of the world’s most scenic railway journeys” and runs across regions of the Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines. We travelled on one of the regular passenger trains along the route. We got a table seat so were both by the window. We looked out for them but neither Bill Nighy nor Michael Portillo were anywhere to be seen.
